For the last year-and-a-half I’ve enjoyed a varied job function - moving from task to task. My digital remit is vast and can range from interpreting website traffic analysis through to setting up social networks and communities. This is fine except there’s an important part missing - a job role aligned with strategy and the business case. Having no real strategic direction is frustrating and aimless. I’m responsible for finding solutions to internal client requests, but I struggle to understand how the tasks supports our digital strategy?

Recently I’ve been asking myself how I can make a *real* difference - add value to our digital goals and ultimately to the outcomes of business goals (and profit). I’m passionate about user-centred approaches - where we focus on the user by putting their needs first. Further it aims to give users (visitors, community members, exhibitors, subscibers etc) great experiences and ensures our product/service engages them ultimately leading to conversion.

In the next few weeks I’ll be looking to establish and present a user-experience program.
